Ten years ago Merlin Simonson and Loren Peterson attended leadership school at Lake Okoboji. This is a Luther League project with Mrs. Earl Kerns Mrs. Dick Bush and Mrs. Edna Henderson attended the funeral of Mrs. Marie Jensen at the Rolfe Lutheran Church last Thursday. Marvin Olson answered Uncle Sam's call Tuesday. He was first flown to Denver then transferred to Texas. At the Boy Scout Court of Honor on July 10 Dennis Hansen and Steven Graeb er were advac ed to First Class Scouts. Mrs. Helen Thompson has moved into her newly purchased home. Six cars of a 50 car North Western Railway train loaded with rock derailed just east of Havelock Tuesday.

Thirty years ago Mary Beth Brinkman Mary Jane Hunter and Janice Wiegman attended a Gamma Phi Beta sorority house party at the lakes this week. The Bradgate highway and the main street were treated Monday to control dust.

Mrs. George Zeman and four children accompanied Mrs. Zeman's father to Illinois by train from Manson Monday evening. Kristi Newman returned home after a two week stay with grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Shay visited in Eagle Grove with Kenneth Shaw and met Curtis Lyle Shaw. P.A.E. Club picnic drew Mrs. Dean Kauffman and Kari from San Jose to Britt areas. The Kauffman family began two years in Taiwan teaching music at a U.S. military school.
