Rolfe column notes tough times and shifting supply chains
The Rolfe column laments high cement demand, lumber applicator tensions, and rising costs driving up prices for goods like sacks of cement and a Kansas mill car. It recalls coal shipments, wage talks, and a population of widows and widowers near the Rolfe post office while poking at political and economic issues of the era. It ends by advertising water tanks and hog troughs for sale and comments on changing home design trends from bay windows to picture windows.
