County Tourney Set for Rolfe Park Sunday
Pocahontas county golfers will hold their annual county tournament at Rolfe Park on Sunday August 10. Players must play nine qualifying holes, register and pay by 11 30 a m, flight play starts 12 15 p m with two nine hole medal rounds and ties resolved by playoff. Graveside Rites For Walker Infant Held July 29
Graveside services for Charles Dean Walker infant son of Mr and Mrs Donald E Walker were held Tuesday morning July 29 at 11 oclock in North Lawn Cemetery Fort Dodge. Rev Russell Hart of First Methodist Church Fort Dodge officiated. The child died at birth at Lutheran hospital Monday. Survivors include parents a brother Donald James grandparents Mr and Mrs James Hunt and Mr and Mrs Lincoln Walker of Somers along with uncles and aunts. Mrs Walker was formerly Bonetta Hunt.

Veterans since the Korean War may obtain mustering out pay blanks from John Loss VFW Service Officer Rolfe. Payments ranging from 100 to 300 dollars will be issued soon. Don Walker brought Mrs Walker from Lutheran hospital Fort Dodge to her parents home to recuperate. Her condition is good. George Beckord and family left for a two week vacation stopping at Allen Park Col. George Schonberger and family visited Polk City and Des Moines then returned. Rev Arthur Peterson conducted the funeral of Walter Ebert Rockwell City. Ebert was a Cudahy Packing Co salesman known to Rolfe grocers. Donnie Walker came to Rolfe to stay with grandparents James and Mrs Hunt.
