Valley Ditch association meeting backs forestry policy

The Arkansas Valley Ditch association held a Saturday session in Pueblo to endorse the Bureau of Forestry policy and to praise forest reserves. Officers were re elected and resolutions urged Twin Lakes weirs and broader forest conservation, with attendees including state engineers and district water commissioners. A new Otero Garage building project and moves of longtime resident Louis Huguenin were noted.

Promoters Map Electric Rail Road Across Valley

Delegates from Canon City Pueblo and other valley towns join the Rocky Ford Board of Trade group at a meeting to discuss a Kansas Colorado Power and Rail Road Go. The plan aims to build power plants and an electric line from Canon City or Florence to Garden City or Dodge City to light towns and supply irrigation water. Initial capital is $3.5 million via stock sales to landowners, with later expansion to $15 million for railroad construction. No promotion stock will be issued, and shares will be cash or notes held by a trust company until contracts are fulfilled.

At Zoar Encampment last Friday night a large class of candidates earned Patriarch titles with visiting members from Fowler Manzanola and La Junta contributing aspirants and the local lodge adding a strong quota A banquet at Arlington Cafe followed the initiation ceremonies Rocky Ford Lodge No 87 1 C C F held a sociable session Tuesday night skipping regular business for a fine supper and hearty entertainment

Tragic Fall Kills Karl Welds Daugh Lucile 3

Shocking accident in Front street apartments ends in death for Lucile Weld three-year-old daughter of Karl and Mrs Weld after a 17 foot fall from an upstairs window. Dr Pollock could not save her. body sent to Perry Oklahoma for burial.
