Arkansas Valley Fair Directors Meet Sets Plans and Dates
The Arkansas Valley Fair Association directors met at G. M. Hall's office and authorized six month loans to cover bills. They discussed grounds care by a responsible party in exchange for use of the association house and stalls, plus roof and grandstand repairs. The Seventeenth Annual Fair is scheduled for September 1–4, with committees to be appointed April 6 to revise the premium list and arrange departments.

Swink Faces Local Option Fight Before March Vote
The Swink saloon issue heats up as anti and pro saloon factions mobilize for a decisive election. W E Graham of Denver spoke Sunday at the Methodist church on economic and social problems. Registration occurred Tuesday as both sides corralled voters and prepared for further campaigning. Next Wednesday night March 25 Rev Rollin H Ayres of La Junta will lecture on The Unholy Alliance or the Saloon Uncovered.

Farmers Union Banquet Delights Grand Valley Community
The Farmers Union of Grand Valley hosted a successful entertainment and banquet at Barton schoolhouse last Friday drawing about 200 attendees including visitors from Rocky Ford. Program committee J P Nolan D B Carles and J M Lynch earned praise for organizing. The event featured George Euston's string band H A Whitsett on banjo and a witty talk by C F Burke with Miss Bennett delivering a recitation. The banquet by the ladies of Frand Valley was the evening's highlight and praised as excellent.

The Rocky Ford Domestic Science Short Course. Miss Rausch and assistants led lectures on dress, entertaining, and kitchen craft with demonstrations on eggs, jelly, and cooking. Committees praised the program and urged domestic science in local schools while Senator Crowley applauded the week’s work.
