The Rocky Ford council and Board of Trade discussed the Fowler water proposal offering 20 000 gallons daily at 1 per thousand with standpipe readiness. Officials weighed costs tax burdens and town reputation while noting artesian water validity and community funding limits.

The Newby home bright with lights hosted about 25 relatives and friends for the marriage of Grace Newby and Roger R Jones. The ceremony featured Rev W B Harter and Mrs M M Nelson with Abbie Hunt as bridesmaid and Lester E Newby as best man. A wedding dinner followed and the couple will start homemaking in Rocky Ford.
The Las Animas Leader reports a big elm shipment from Rocky Ford arrives this week. Las Animas city parks will plant 250 trees, the school district plans plantings near the high school, and residents place 25 to 100 trees on their lots, replacing cottonwoods as part of a broader reforestation push.
Miss Florence Dunkleberger announces a clerk-carrier examination for the United States Civil Service Commission to be held in Rocky Ford on May 2, 1907. Applications must be filed in Denver before April 23. inquire at the post office for exam blanks and instructions.

Walter Cheek backs a South Main three story brick structure with a dance hall top floor and a street cellar for fuel. Several residents and builders, including A L Tenny, Mrs. David Best, Dr R E Wolfe, Clyde Fluke, Palmer and Anthony, Dennis Freak, and S A McDonald with Frank Buirgy, advance private residences and commercial spaces as plans race to completion.
A Denver area tale centers on Rose Lee Smith a former Rocky Ford teacher who claimed the corpse of a Grand Junction burglary suspect as her missing brother. The body’s identity is disputed with Clarksburg morgue visitors doubting it matches Smith's claimed kin.
