Neville M. Bise of Rockport and James B. Stephenson joined the U S Army at Owensboro Kentucky Army recruiting station. Bise enlisted in the Second U S Infantry now at Fort Thomas Kentucky, Stephenson joined the Artillery. Bise has nine years prior service and a strong soldier’s record. Snyder Dies at 82 Near Rockport in Ohio Township
N M Snyder, aged 82, died Wednesday at his home two miles southwest of Rockport. The funeral was held Thursday. He farmed where he was born and never left Ohio township. Survived by his wife and three daughters Mrs John Wagner, Mrs Tuma Strteville, and Mrs Acre Snyder.

Young Soldier Frank Meredith Dies From Shotgun Wound
The body of Frank Meredith a regular army soldier about 30 years old arrived from Ft Mackintosh Texas and was interred at Shiloh on Wednesday. A shotgun wound in the right hip with the charge entering the abdominal cavity caused his death. Meredith was from near Oak Grove and a member of the Rockport I O F lodge which conducted the funeral services.

Fraudulent Cleveland Letter Flayed by Executives
F R Hastings, executor of Grover Cleveland, declares a Rockport Journal forged letter misattributing anti Bryan Taft views to the late president.
