Politicians Urged to Expurgate One Room Schools in Indiana County
In Indianapolis the Indiana County Superintendents' association heard John R. Carr call for a governor appointed commission to inspect one room school conditions, stronger state board of health powers, and political reform. He urged consolidating schools into graded buildings and warned that current trustees lack qualifications, risking child welfare. Carr noted seven thousand one room schools remain, many poorly ventilated and unsanitary, contrasting with growth of consolidated schools.

Death by Accident in Supulpa Claims Wayne Smith
Wayne Smith of Evansville died last Thursday in Supulpa Oklahoma when a heavy girder fell during Frisco Railway bridge construction. He was 11 months married to a St Louis wife. funeral held Sunday at 1 30 from brother Walter J Smith home. Burial in St Mathews cemetery. He was the son of James N Smith and survived by two sisters and a brother.
