Will of J. B. Chrisney Heirs to Endowment and Legacy

The will of John B. Chrisney of Chrisney Indiana probated this week endows a twenty year reserve fund for his heirs including parcels on Main Street and stock in Peoples Bank. It names executor John P. Chrisney and provides for a wife’s lifetime income and home control, burial at Oak Hill cemetery, and division of remaining estate among heirs. Roosevelt era politics are discussed in a separate column urging Bryan as next president if changes occur.

Railroad bridge plans raise hopes for Owensboro Rockport link

The Owensboro and Rockport Bridge Terminal company reports completion of two Ohio River bridge sites between Rockport and Owensboro and plans a meeting to secure right of way. The project estimates reach up to 1 250 000 for the bridge and rail link with a 1 010 000 bridge alone.

January Term Circuit Court Adjourns After Few Trials

Numerous cases carried over from the January term of the circuit court were adjourned Saturday with only a handful of cases tried. Proceedings grew light as the term closed and most matters were postponed for future action.

Rev Guard Nominated Over County Treasurer in Race

Rev W L Guard pastor of the Lutheran church secured the nomination for representative by defeating former county Treasurer M W Thomas. Guard totaled 1997 votes to Thomas 1240, a majority of 757. This is the highest plurality for any candidate in Champaign County.

Train Ditches Near Ice Plant After Heavy Rains

A Lincoln City bound train from Saturday left the track near the ice plant with only the engine spared, and most cars derailed. No injuries were reported as wrecking crews re-railed the cars after the rails spread due to heavy rains, with work spanning most of Saturday night.

Child Swallows Metal Piece. Surgery at Evansville

Six year old daughter of Lark Wood living near Rockport swallowed a small metal fragment stuck in the throat. She underwent neck surgery at Evansville to remove the foreign object and is recovering at home. Also reported is the death of George F. Schweinfurth at age about sixty from pneumonia after a week of illness. funeral held at Albright church with Rev. G. Koch officiating.

A Kentucky lawyer tried to buy a railroad ticket with a $2 bill but only had 8 dollars needed. He pawned the bill for 1.50, sold the pawn ticket for 1.50, then met a friend who bought the pawn ticket for 1.50. Who loses the collar in this odd tale of money and misdirection.
