The Owensboro Messenger notes hundreds from Daviess county attended the Rockport Ind fair, with more than 3 000 travelers by boat and land. It says such spending could have covered Owensboro Chautauqua deficits and relieved guarantors of 2000 dollars, while praising Rockport organizers and promising reinvestment in fair grounds.

Will of Michael Schaeffer Bequeaths All to Wife Then Children

The will of Michael Schaef fer of Harrison township was filed. It leaves all household and personal property to wife Veronica for her life for her support. After her death each daughter receives 5 dollars, and 100 dollars to Frank Schaeffer. Other children Mary Bertke John B Schaeffer Elizabeth Kunkler Albert and Henry Schaeffer share the residue, with John B Schaeffer receiving 200 dollars less than the others.
