The city council approved a broad funding package allocating resources to numerous bridge projects across the region. Officials cited infrastructure needs and safety improvements as key justifications for the plan.
County council held a special session to approve about 11900 for bridges levees and curb gutter work. Included is 665.28 to reimburse Rockport for Main street curbs and gutters and 1200 for Court Square work. Also 600 for lawyers fees in the Lockyear inquiry. Community musical evenings noted. William C. Osborn, 46, died near Rockport of Brights disease. funeral at Shiloh with family of deaf children in attendance.
