Rock Valley seeks members for Valley Housing project
Valley Housing Inc, a Rock Valley non profit, offers $25 memberships to fund land purchase and a 2 percent down payment for a five unit low rent housing project. Units will be one or two bedrooms, fully carpeted, priced at 70 to 80 dollars monthly, with utilities included. membership sales occur at the Rock Valley City Clerk's office as about 200 memberships are sought before FHA loan approval and construction next summer.

United Appeal Sets Collection Date For Rock Valley
After organizational meetings the Rock Valley United Appeal board fixed October 2 as the collection date for the annual drive. Volunteers will be assigned routes and a summary card listing beneficiary organizations will be distributed October 27. Beneficiaries include Red Cross, Salvation Army, USO, Boy Scouts, 4-H, and others aiding disasters, children, and health.

About 288 attendees gathered last Wednesday for Hege Memorial Hospital shareholders meeting in Rock Valley. The event included a 1973 Chevrolet Buick display at Hi Way Chevrolet and Buick with free coffee snacks for attendees. Dr Yates and Berthelen received applause for work in the community. Births and deaths counted 55 births and 17 deaths, matching last year.
