George R Van Beek 24 of Rock Valley was listed in serious condition at St Joseph Mercy Hospital after falling about 20 feet down an elevator shaft at the Naval Reserve Training Center on Jones Street. Week three minor mishaps reported in Rock Valley
The Rock Valley Ponies Department recorded three minor traffic incidents during the past week. A 1967 Pontiac and a 1968 Chevrolet sustained about 90 dollars in damage to a Van't Hul vehicle and 250 dollars to Hulshof respectively, with no injuries. A rear-end collision involving a 1963 Ford and a 1968 Chevrolet left 250 and 50 dollars in damage, and a summons for failure to have control was issued to Hulshof and Kooima. A third incident involved a 1968 Chevrolet pickup and a 1963 Ford with 250 and 50 dollars in damage, and Kooima received a summons for failure to have control.

Gas refunds by IPS in December announced
Town Public Service said today that refunds will be mailed in early December for amounts under one dollar as a credit on customers’ bills.
