The Commercial Club announces a daily drawing through the holiday season with prizes from $200 upward. Nineteen local businesses back the effort. shoppers may register daily at participating Rock Valley stores, placing names in a barrel near closing. Winners need not be present to win. ages 16 and up eligible, notifications issued promptly.
A local raffle at 1209 1st Street Hull named Mire Van Hul as the winner. Shoppers must be inside participating stores by 6 30 PM when the announcement occurs.
In November the Rock Valley Community School board approved a scheduling plan for the junior high girls basketball program. The start of practice marks the end of summer preparations with gym facility arrangements awaiting final sealing.
Administrator Adolph Eshuis announced the Hegg Memorial Hospital in Sioux City will begin a bloodbank service almost immediately. The hospital will install a bloodbank refrigerator and stock common blood types 24 and 26, with rarer types available on demand. Membership through the Siouxland Bloodbank reduces pint costs to 13 dollars, covering processing and extending coverage across most of the US, ensuring resupply while away from home.
