Maurice-Orange City Duiehmen team clinched the Siouxland Conference football crown for the fourth straight year with a 49-14 victory over George Friday night. West Lyon moved into second after a 44-25 win over Rock Valley, Central Lyon defeated Alton 27-7, and Sioux Center upset Boyden-Hull 39-6 to rise to fourth. Two conference games remain, including a Central Lyon at Boyden-Hull matchup and an interleague game at Orange City against West Sioux.

Arson Suspected In Rock Valley Barn Fire
A barn at John Vander Huel's abandoned farm four miles southwest of Rock Valley burned last Thursday. Sioux County Sheriff's investigators found fresh footprints near the foundation and a white sedan seen leaving the scene. The hay and straw inside the barn were completely destroyed.
