Funeral services for Sam J. Kooima aged 67 were held at First Christian Reformed Church at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Porter Funeral Home conducting a 1 p.m. prayer service. Burial followed at Valley View Cemetery. He died Saturday at home after a brief illness. Born September 22, 1899 in Rock Valley he married Anna DeWit on February 20, 1920 in Rock Valley. They farmed locally before moving to Rock Valley two years ago. Survivors include his widow, five children, three brothers, two sisters, 22 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
