Women Run City for a Day in DeWitt Iowa
The Business and Professional Women's Club in DeWitt Iowa staged a city government takeover for National Business Women's Week. A meeting of Rock Valley kittenball fans decided to rename to Diamondball and form a team. Officers named include Manager Wi. H. Ver Boef Captain Arthur C. Vande Weerids and Sec Treas Henry R. Vander Bok. They plan to join a league with Hull, Boyden, Sheldon, Orang City, Alton, Maurice and others. Twilight games. two per week. 10 cent admission for men, ladies and children free. Players pay one dollar which will be refunded if funds allow. Open practice and tryouts announced.

Flaming Alcohol Fatality in Allerton Dentist Killed
A dentist from Allerton, Towa, Dr. Fred Bracework, was killed in a bizarre accident. While finishing a dental procedure, he stepped into his laboratory where a bottle of denatured alcohol above him spilled and ignited from a spirit lamp. The flames drenched his head and shoulders and, despite attempts to extinguish them, he died several hours later.
