Chamber To Sponsor 1976 Spring Edition
Local Chamber of Commerce retail committee launches a ten day sales event from April 8 to 17 named 1976 Spring Edition. The Bee will print a special April 7 supplement with merchant ads and feature articles. Merchants must submit April 7 ads by noon April 3 and April 14 ads by noon April 10.

Siouxland Coach Of The Year Honors Rock Valley Leader
Robert Miller, coach at Rock Valley Community High School, named 1975 76 Siouxland Coach of the Year. He is the 28th recipient of the annual honor for Siouxland high school coaches. Miller’s Rocket baseball team went undefeated in the regular season.

One Business Sold and Another To Open This Week
Arthur Tarz Bergsma announced the sale of Rock Valley Lumber Company to Andrew Jansma, a 1966 Rock Valley High School graduate who later worked in medical tech and served in the U.S. Army. Jansma will keep Bergsma involved. the store dates to 1918 under the Gates family. A new venture, Boon’s Heating and Cooling, by Arie Boon, will operate from the old creamery site. Boon, a rural Doon native and Air Force veteran, attends Northwest Iowa Technical College and will field calls 2 to 6 PM or Saturdays. His wife, formerly of Inwood, is a nurse’s aide at Valley Manor. They reside at 2038 12th Street.

The Calvin Christian Reformed congregation of Rock Valley marks its 25th anniversary on April 23, 1975. April is Anniversary Month with Sunday services by former pastors on April 4 Rev John Ribbens, April 11 Rev Milton Doornbos, April 18 Rev Dennis Boogerd, and April 25 Rev Durant Van Oyen.
