Career Day at Northwestern March 7
On Tuesday March 7 Career Day was held at Northwestern College in Orange City. Sophomores and juniors from Sioux County public and non public schools attended a series of career conferences organized by guidance counselors. Students attended three 40 minute sessions with consultants explaining jobs, benefits, drawbacks, growth, and starting pay. The group later boarded buses for Rock Valley.

RVHS FFA Students Advance to District Contest
Karen Gayer reports Western subdistrict FFA Contests held March 4 at Rock Valley. Nine Rock Valley members competed with 14 area chapters. results included gold silver and bronze emblems. Rock Valley earned a silver in Parliamentary Procedure and first place with gold for LeMars. Lylé Remmelde won Freshman Creed and advances to district at LeMars March 11. Dave Heuer placed third. Steve Vogelzang earned silver and district qualification for Public Speaking with Mr. Farm Manager 1980. Ron Hulshof won first in Efficiency On Agriculture and advances.

Daily meals listed for March 20 to 24 include Wiener winks with tomato soup and vegetable sticks on Monday, orange juice on Tuesday, fare and fruit options midweek, pizza on Thursday, and cream chicken on bun on Friday.
