Rock Valley High School speech students Twyla Hoekstra Jeffery Vande Velde and Craig Vande Velde performed at the Rock Valley Rotary Club meeting under the direction of Mrs Linda Bjerk Their selections included The Skater of Ghost Lake My Sister and Breaking Point The trio earned a division I rating in district competition on February 25 and will compete at Washington High School Cherokee in state finals.

Youth Choir To Sing At First Reformed Church
The Youth Choir of the First Christian Reformed Church will present a program of sacred music at the church on Sunday March 19 at 2 p.m. The 60 voice high school choir will sing anthems for Palm Sunday and other Easter selections. Soloists Karen Wesselink Dennis Rozeboom and Lida Sebythas perform pieces with a duet. The choir is directed by James Van der Velde and the church invites the public.

Vocational School to Open Bids for New Building
Bids will be opened April 13 for the Northeast Iowa Vocational School project costing about one million dollars. The 446 acre site near Sheldon in Sioux County will host a five shop complex with classrooms library and student center. Construction expected to start in May and finish by June 1968, with Associated Architects of Des Moines and Sioux City preparing plans approved by the State Board of Public Instruction March 9.

Hay Day Set for Thursday March 23 by Commercial Club

Annual Meeting Report of Sioux Electric Cooperative Assn
The annual meeting at Northwestern College Auditorium Grange City drew about 1800 members. Officers reported, ballots were counted, and three directors were elected to two-year terms Gillis Haverdink Alvin Linch and H J Shoemaker. The group discussed rural electric cooperative financing and supported legislation for a Bank for Rural Electric Cooperatives.
