A group of total and area musicians will present a County and Western Jamboree at Rock Valley High School auditorium as a Heag Benefit. Inwood Man Indicted for Area Soybean Theft
George McCany Jr., 28, of Inwood, indicted March 5 1968 by the Primghar Grand Jury for stealing soyheads from the Orville Taylor farm near Hartley Iowa on January 2 1968. Dordt Choir to Perform at First Christian Reformed Rock Valley
The Dordt Cottage Concert Choir of Sioux Center will give a concert at the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley on Sunday March 17 at 2 30 p m. under Dale Grotenhuis with a varied sacred program including works by Rameau Mendelssohn and Tschesnokoff and a new piece O Sing Unto the Lod. The Dordt College Concert Band and the Dordt College Bros Quintet will also perform with selections from Paget Tower Music and assist in the finale. The program mirrors the Spring tour concerts across Iowa Illinois Ohio New Jersey Massachusetts New York and Michigan. Admission is free with a free will offering. Dordt College is a co educational Christian liberal arts college founded in 1956 affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church.

Drowns in Sandpit Near Town Aged 8
Rock Valley mourns Darrell Lee Van't Hul eight who wandered from home Friday afternoon and drowned in a sandpit four miles from the farm. Firemen and neighbors searched, a duck boat aided by Jim and Harold Van Berkum recovered the body. Funeral services were held at First Christian Reformed Church with interment at Valley View Cemetery. He is survived by his parents two sisters and grandparents.

Vandals Burn Rack Of Straw Belonging To Almer Feilby
Vandals destroyed a Mat rack of straw owned by Almer Feilby of Hudson last Thursday per the Sioux County Sheriff. Feilby had taken the straw to Rock Valley Safes Co but did not sell it and was returning home when it burned near a mile from Hudson. The fire spread to a soil bank and damaging the adjacent game cover. a lasso was reportedly used in the early incident.

The Rock Valley Commercial Club announces the second annual Hay Day on Thursday March 21 in conjunction with the local Sales Company. Rock Valley Teachers Receive Base Pay Increase
The Rock Valley Community School Board raised the base pay for the BA schedule to 6000 dollars effective this year. Beginning pay with a BA rises to 6981 and for a Masters to 36800. the step system has 12 steps with annual increases. A $1200 single year raise limit was set to curb double raises, while some may reach a 1900 cap.
