Verbrugge of Rock Valley at Hegg Memorial Hospital on June at p.m. Kimberly Lynn weighed 10 Ibs. at birth and is inch- es long. She has one brother, Matthew, at home. The mother is the former Kay Rietema. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John F. Rietema, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Verbrugge, all of Kanawha, Iowa. Stacy Jo Van HOI Stacy Jo was born to Mr. and Mrs. Randy Van Hill of Inwood at Hegg Memorial Hospital on June 22, 1976, at a.m. Stacy weighed 9 Ibs., ounces at birth and is 21 inches long. Her mother is the former Cynthia Rozeboorn. Grand- parents' are Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Rozeboorn of In- wood, and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Van Hill of Alvord. Great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Louis Holtz of In- wood and Mr. and Mrs. Peter De Jongh of Hills, Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Middelkoop spent the week- end in Baldwin, Wisconsin, also visiting their daughter Julie Sue who resides in the Northern Colony in Chip- pewa Falls, Wi. On Saturday evening they attended a 35th class reunion given in the Coachman Supper Club. The Van Zanten family reunion will be held on July 2, Friday evening. A potluck supper will be held at p.m. at the Bandshell Park at Sioux Center, coffee served will be furnished. Mr. and Mrs. John A. Van Zanten and family of Alton are the sponsors for this year. Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Grevengoed received work that Bradly Westra, age 9, of Hull was admitted to the St. Lukes Hospital at Sioux City last week Thursday evening. While playing, he received a left eye injury; Bradley is a 'son of. Mr.-and Mrs. Don Westra of Hull', Iowa. Graduates- Douglas Kaufman, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kaufman of 2010 16th Street, Rock Valley was among the 900 students receiving degrees recently at Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas. Kaufman-was awarded a bachelor of science degree in the physician's assistant program. Attends ISU Orientation Robert K.. Kersbergen of Rock Valley was among those on the campus of Iowa State University in Ames recently to attend orientation meetings. The two-day sessions were devoted to aptitude and placement tests, visits with counselors, and planning class schedules for the fall quarter. Kersbergen is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kersber- gen. Hope Haven To dose July 5 Hope Haven, at Rock Valley, Iowa will close its entire program and facilities for two weeks from July 5 to July 19. Doors will be locked during that time to allow all enrolles and staff to have a two week vacation. All visitors are welcome to tour Hope Haven facilities any day Monday through Friday at 10 A.M. or 2 P.M. except for the first two weeks, inJuly. Mr. and Mrs. Art Vander Bilt of California visited in the home of Mrs. C.E. Van Zanten recently. They also visited with other relatives in the area and also with rela- tives at the Valley Manor." They went to Hull and Boyden, also to visit with relatives. The Dennis Van Otterloo's of Rock Valley have moved recently to 1513 2nd Street in Hull. Dennis became a partner of Art's Electric in Hull, this spring. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Wesselink went to Langdon, North Dakota to attend the wedding of Ginger Wenzel. They returned home Mon- day. Mrs. Cora Verdoorn and Mrs. Sadie Verdoorn visited with Mr. and Mrs. Arie Gaalswyk last week Thurs- day afternoon in their home. Mr. and Mrs. John C. Dykstra went to Sheldon Sunday afternoon. They helped Mr. and Mrs. George Eberly celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. After supper they went to Sanborn to visit in the home of Mrs. Dena Van Gelderen Sunday evening. Last week Sunday after- noon guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Vande Stroet were Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Van Beek and family, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Visser and daughter Heather, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Vande Stroet and two children and .Jon Rhode. Mr. and Mrs. Clellan Vander Hamm of Lodi, Cali. were weekend guests in the home of her mother, Mrs. Fannie Calsbeek. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Van_ Veldhuizen of Hospers visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Abma last week Friday evening. Last week Wednesday, Mrs. Roy Pederson of Rock Rapids and Mrs. Johanna Pederson of Canton visited in the home of Mrs. Alfred Claussen. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Vande Kerk of Oaklawn, Illinois were weekend guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Vande Kerk. Four Attend Okoboji Workshop Four Rock Valleyans were among those attending a workshop on emergency room management held June 18 at the Holiday Inn, Okoboji. The four included Susan De Boer, Helaine Wolfswin- kel, June Knobloch, and Jo Ann Kersbergen. The workshop was des- igned for emergency care personnel responsible for assessment and immediate management of a in an emergency situation. Mr. and Mrs. John De Koning of Rock Rapids were Sunday evening guests in the home of their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Lover- ink. Henry Vugteveen of Sioux Fals, S.D. was a weekend guest in the.home of Mr. and Mrs: Bert Mrs. Case Vugteveen visited in'the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Vander Schaaf at Orange City last week Saturday. r Mrs. Case Vugteveen returned to her home last week Wednesday. She has spent" two weeks with her daughter and other relatives at Grand Rapids, Mich, and at Ontario, Canada. Want Ads SellStBest OBITUARY HARRY L. HEWITT Harry L. Hewitt, 70, Sioux Falls, S.D., a former Rock Valley resident, died June 16 after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home. Services were held at p.m. June 19 at Our Sav- ior's Lutheran Church of Rock Valley. The Rev. John Kronloken officiated. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery under the direction of. the Porter Funeral Home. Mr. Hewitt was born March 22, 1906, in Sioux City. He married Frances Perry, March 1, 1928, in Heron Lake, Minn. Mrs. Hewitt died June Mr. Hewitt had been employed by the Iowa Highway Commission. Survivors include five sons, Robert of Custer, S.D., Dale of Corson, S.D., Henry and Harry E., both of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Stanley of Bakersfield, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Shirley) Craig and Mrs. Joyce Meyer, both of Sioux Falls, and Mrs. Earl (Bev- erly) Holmquist of Remsen; three brothers, James of Raymond, Neb., Earl of Elk Point, S.D., and Albert of Seattle, Wash.
