Lost Youth Found By Fire Dept
A Rock Valley boy Merlyn Driesen, age ten, was found unconscious after a minor mini bike accident in a field near his home. Rescue units were alerted at 10 15 p m and he received minor shock treatment at his farm four miles west of Rock Valley, where he is in good condition.

The Bee reports the fatal accident of Keith Pulford aged 24 in Grand Rapids Minnesota. He was unloading a gas transport when the gas ignited and Pulford died from second degree burns. Funeral services were held June 9 at the Grace Bible Chapel in Grand Rapids. Mrs. Pulford, formerly Macy Vande Kerk, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Vande Kerk of Rock Valley.

Four area youths volunteer for six weeks in the Summer Workshops In Ministries. Minor Injuries In Doon Accident
John Alvin Vande Weerd of Rock Valley and Twlla Keele of Hull sustained injuries in a one car crash north of Doon near the junction of highways 73 and 167. The 1964 Chevrolet, driven by Vande Weerd, veered on gravel and struck a washout, causing head cuts, facial injuries, and a hip bruise. Both were treated at Hegg Memorial Hospital and released. the coral wrecked car was left at the scene. Deputy Sheriff Lovell investigated. no summons issued.

Miss Maria Sue Tininer, daughter of Mr and Mrs Peter Thamer of Rock Valley, has been accepted as a member of the Youth Service Corps of the Americas Lutheran Church assigned to Woodward State Hospital School for the summer. Corps members will help in wards, assist with education and recreation, and visit churches during weekends. They will work eight hours a day, five days weekly for four weeks, with a one-week camping vacation and a final four-week session, ending August 14.

Two Car Collision on Main Street in Rock Valley
Rock Valley residents were involved in a minor collision near Van's Foodland on Tuesday afternoon. Gerrit Lems traveling south on Main Street signaled to turn right. Marion Bobby Rus, following, failed to see the signal. The 1961 Pontiac sustained $50 rear damage while the 1959 Ford had no damage and no summons was issued.
