Computers speed access to Iowa TRACIS records
A two part series notes Iowa plans to implement the TRACIS system by January 1, 1974. About 315 006 criminal information records will be available within minutes to approved officials via a central Des Moines computer and 100 terminals statewide. The system aims to cut processing time from days to minutes, with terminals in Sioux County and future county expansions. Funding exceeds 1 million annually, with about half from state and federal sources.

Dog to be Destroyed After It Bites Second Child

The dog, a mostly Shetland sheepdog, will be watched and then destroyed after authorities decide on action. the family seeks medical cost coverage and notes the animal previously attacked a 2 year old girl in May.

The Rock Valley Commercial Club donated 260 dollars to the local procurement committee as it contracts with doctors and dentists. Hudson Votes Yes for Disposal Bond Issue
Hudson South Dakota residents approve a 96000 dollar bond for a sewage treatment plant after a EPA warning over raw sewage dumping into the Big Sioux River. 20 Year Old In Rock Valley Survives Self Inflicted Wound
Robert Mulder, 20, of Rock Valley, was found in his parents home early Friday with a gunshot wound to the side. A .222 rifle lay beside him after his father Thomas heard the shot. Mulder underwent surgery in Sioux Falls and was reported to be recovering. The motive remains unknown.

Car Truck Crash Ends in 130 Auto Damage
A May 31 accident near 21st Avenue and Highway 18 left one car with 190 dollars in damage and no injuries. Mary Miller’s car crossed the center line, forcing Richard Dean Postma’s Big 4 soybean truck to swerve. the Chevrolet sustained 131 dollars in damage and Miller was cited for failure to yield half the roadway.
