Davenport Declares First Depot Gift and War Memorial
In Davenport on May 23 the first depot in love was presented to the Caldwell chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution by the Chicago Rock Island and Pacific trust railroad officials for Davenport's citizens. A pageant depicted Iowa’s early development, marking 1833 as the historic structure date. The piece also covers city water mains expansion in Des Moines, pavement in Greene County, and highway discussions. It notes military training plans for Port Des Moines, and memorials for Marion Crandell, while addressing Sunday dance restrictions and hospital population figures at Cherokee.
