State Pays $6000 for Pheasant Eggs in Butler County
Butler county leads state in using a new law to thin Mongolian pheasant populations. About 150 farmers petitioned the state game warden for eggs and live birds payment. The state paid one dollar per live bird and per dozen eggs delivered. In the first half of a 20 day season the state absorbed over 6000 dozen eggs, then halted egg intake and redirected to live birds.
