The Rock Valley Rocks lost both ends of a doubleheader to Larchwood over Memorial weekend. In the opener Larchwood won 33 8 with nine hits apiece as Meendering pitched for Rock Valley and Bob Snyder worked all game for Larchwood. In the nightcap Larchwood prevailed 4 1 after taking the lead with a third inning burst and adding two more in the fifth, aided by Rocks errors.
An early stage hospital project in Rock Valley aims for funding via public subscription. A committee plans to showcase the design at the Home Show on June 1 to explain phases and garner support. Total costs may exceed 100000 dollars as officials push the concept forward.

Plans for a June farm home show at the Corn Palace across from Iowa Public Service are in final stages for June 10 and 11. The event, sponsored by the Rock Valley Commercial Club, features 1 PM opens with booths from Town Public Service and Kragt Furniture among many others. Exhibits include prize contests and free gifts, with Medallion and Blue Star home programs showcased by Iowa Public Service.
