The Outlying Experimental Farms under H. L. Self of Iowa State University announce a Field Day at the Allee Experimental Farm one mile south of Newell Iowa on July 7. Attendees will view ongoing agricultural experiments and demonstrations.
Iowa State University researchers present results on sorghum and Sudan grass grazing and cattle nutrition. Attendees can consult specialists on antibiotics in cattle feed and concrete feeding bays. Public invited, no admission, program runs 9:30 a.m. to noon.
Iowa farm girl contest selects 1966 Queen of Conservation at Plowman banquet in Jefferson on September 8 amid National Soil Conservation Field Days. Regional and local contests lead to state title with a 250 cash award. past winner Miss Louise Schwartz mentored regional entrants.
