He was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the upper abdomen and released from Hogg Memorial hospital. No charges have been filed. wife Delores held for psychiatric evaluation. The shooting occurred Thursday night at Kooima's home with a 22 caliber pistol.

Water System Briefly Fails in Rock Valley
Sweltering heat worsened by a relay switch failure cut city water for about thirty minutes last Thursday. Officials filled the tower from an abandoned well to avert a fire risk, then manually pumped Friday to restore levels. Water was tested and deemed safe to drink. Repairs completed by Monday, pumps back to normal.
