Northwest Iowa Council of Governments formed in nine counties
A regional governing group in northwest Iowa was formally organized last week after Rock Valley and other Sioux County municipalities approved. The nine county council will have weighted votes, with a 40 000 dollar initial budget and 15 cent per capita financing. Ralph Nelson was elected chairman, Fred Benson vice chairman, Louis Hanson secretary, and Steve Waller treasurer to oversee start up and further appointments.
