Appointment of Dr Gary Koesselman to Civil Rights Commission
In the Senate last week Governor appointee Dr Gary Koaselman from the Middleburg area joined the Civil Rights Commission with broad support. The Senate also amended school standards to include environmental, ethnic, American and Iowa history, while addressing district mergers and safeguards. Debates over merger viability and potential state aid changes highlighted tensions before a measure allowing carnival games and bingo in Iowa next week.
