UMW Plans Banquet and World Day of Prayer Details
The OM W of the Methodist Church met February 7 at 2 o clock with Irma Vanden Oever in charge. Rena Van Edijk led the program focusing on India one sixth of the world population. Lucile Van Maanen led devotions. Shirley Bunch opened the Sindy Course linked to Key 73. Betty Spires announced World Day of Prayer to be at Peace Luther. A Father Daughter Banquet is set for March 11 with tickets at February meetings. Imma Vanden Dever pressed past president Kay Klain for her past president pin. Hostesses were Darlene Westra and Cara Ver Meer.

At the Community Oil annual meeting Farmland Industries regional official Bill Hendrick said diesel fuel will be adequate in 1986 despite a looming energy crisis. He blamed drilling costs and environmental opposition for energy issues and urged cooperation between environmentalists and industry. Directors Sam T. Doon Two Die in U S 75 Crash In Iowa
A two car crash on U S 75 north of Doon Corner killed Rev Rensa Dykstra instantly and his daughter died later at a Sioux Center hospital. Two others were hospitalized with serious injuries. Dykstra served Doan Reformed Church from 1947 to 1955 and was 68. Funeral details were set with Poster Funeral Home in Rock Valley.
