About 135 attended the Rock Valley Golf Course banquet where new board members were elected and the annual financial report approved. Llaboo presided in Loren Hansen’s absence as the Rock Valley High School Stage Band performed. New men’s directors are Sam Ver Hoef Vein Koster and Leonard Kaskie replacing three outgoing members. women’s directors include Carlerie Westra Dee Bauman and Joan Kooima with Ellen Rhode to head the women’s board. A $20,550 budget was proposed for the coming year, with last year’s expenditures at $20,890.51 and a $501.57 year-end balance. Membership fees were raised by $5.

Larceny Charges Brought Against 2 R V Men
Andrew Qostra and Ed De Ruyter of Valley face petty larceny charges for stealing antique furniture from Earl Schmidt's rural home. They appeared in Justice of the Peace court on February 1. the case outcome was not reported. The theft occurred December 18 and was investigated by Rock Valley police and the Sioux County Sheriff. All stolen furniture has been recovered and Schmidt has moved remaining items from his rural home.

No Injuries In Car-Bus Collision
A 1966 Chrysler driven by Joseph Ripperda and a Rock Valley panel bus collided on ice. The bus, driven by John Kootska, received $60 damage and the car $150. Police investigated. no injuries reported and fault cited as failure to yield.

Local MS-Drive Nets $1000 in Donations
The drive raised a total of $1,004.95, over $100 more than previous years, led by campaign chair Mrs. Comte Van Zanten. Donations included $73.40 from local businesses at Valley Lanes and $34.50 from the coin canisters.
