Rock Valley Police Communications Questioned by Patrolman
Iowa patrolman Art Jonker of Orange City and four Jonker brothers spoke at the Roury Ipade. Jonker, 14 years with the Highway Patrol, criticized Rock Valley’s police communication systems, noting delayed responses to incidents. He cited teenage driver issues and a Sunday night smoke bomb incident that required contacting other towns due to radio gaps. He warned that telephone outages could sever contact with authorities.
