Fredericksburg Spotsylvania Park: Nation's Bloodiest War Ground
The new national battlefield park at Fredericksburg extends across Chancellorsville, Salem Church, Wilderness, Spotsylvania Courthouse, and related fields. It commemorates the Civil War, notes 700,000 engaged and 103,814 killed or wounded across nine days, and envisions memorial roads, trees, and bridges to honor both Union and Confederate troops.
