The March term jury was selected and excused after a trial began in Osman Map Co. vs. Hawarden Creamery with about $130 claimed. The French Lumber Co. won judgment against Wilson et al for remodeling work. Rock Rapids inquest finds local death accidental

Wallace Trigg was a Rock Rapids caller Saturday evening. Jon Mann of Doon, 45 years, fatally injured when struck by an automobile on a war street Saturday. The vehicle was driven by John Blair of Alvord, accompanied by his mother. Snow made visibility poor. An inquest at Rock Rapids declared the death accidental. Local residents and visitors are listed among Easter weekend activities and visits across nearby towns.

Camp Fire Party at Suter Home Enjoys Easter Outing

Last Saturday afternoon March 30 the Camp Fire Girls held a party at the home of Loraine Suter. They spent time playing baseball riding horseback and some indoor games. At six o'clock a supper was served by Mrs. Suter. The table was decorated in Easter colors and the guests enjoyed the country outing and reported the event a success.

Pilate Township couple observe their 20th wedding anniversary

Pilate Township Mr and Mrs Simon Vander Schaaf celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on a Saturday with relatives and friends joining for an afternoon and evening of singing and music by Mrs Chas Vader Ploeg and her daughter Edith. The couple, born in the Netherlands, settled on a farm near Rock Valley after marriage on March 30, 1899. They have 13 children, most living at home or nearby, with a quiet observance hindered by a snowstorm.

Sioux County schoolmasters plan a Sioux County track meet for Class B and an invitation meet for Class A at Orange City on May 11. About 25 races and numerous field events expected. Several townships plan new schools and expansions. Sixty three pupils competed in the annual spelling contest in Orange City with top winners from church, town, and rural schools.
