Governor Deneen calls legislature into special session for tomorrow afternoon to pass a preferential Presidential primary act, to take effect for the April 9 primary. Two bills prepared, requires two thirds to enact, with recess urged to tackle other matters.
New York March 25 five Chicago medical schools listed as unworthy have vanished over the past year per the Carnegie Foundation sixth annual report. It notes strict enforcement of requirements will cut more. Across the nation twenty two schools dropped out while twenty two worthy institutions advanced.
Niles Michigan March 25 The man who calls himself Kimmel the missing banker and was ruled by the court to be mistaken traveled to Ann Arbor today for examination and possible brain pressure relief operation as part of ongoing medical assessment regarding his condition.
Benjamin L. Runkle of Washburn was arrested by the sheriff on suspicion of criminal libel and attempted blackmail. He allegedly wrote letters to Edward Hines Lumber company and to the Lumbermen's Lloyds charging the Hines firm with firing their plant on July 1, 1906, at Washburn, resulting in about $75,000 in insurance paid by Lloyds.
