Convicts to Work on State Roads in Five Camps
Joliet March 12 two hundred fifty convicts at the penitentiary will be sent to work on state roads when weather permits. They will be divided into five honor camps each with a foreman and assistant unarmed. Council Bluffs Iowa March 12 Judge Smith McPherson granted a temporary injunction against enforcement of the Iowa sterilization law. Rudolph Davis a Linn county convict serving ten years for burglary filed the case in Keokuk with defendants including the state parole board prison officials and the prison physician.
