The Illinois Photographers' association will meet in Peoria on July 14 15 16 drawing about 200 photographers from across the state. The sessions will be in the gold room of the hotel and the institute exhibit is planned with a multi thousand dollar outlay.

In Chicago on March 3 Judge Petit presiding over William Ellis murder trial received a letter signed Justice threatening assassination in court if Ellis is convicted.
El Paso reports fifty federals killed and others captured at Acuma last Saturday. In Washington Secretary Grey read to the cabinet and told the House of Commons that Britain would seek reparation if necessary but would not force the United States to intervene. Carranza’s cabinet in session and British officials plan to confer with President Wilson. Carden sails for England tomorrow.
In Hartford Unity hall last night Rev. Dr. Wesley Hill and Rev. l C Hogan argued after a debate on Socialism. Hogan says Hill struck him with a fist and no arrests followed. A Benton commission witness doubted investigators could reach Chihuahua due to safeguards. General Villa attributed orders from Carranza to halt the Benton inquiry, placing the case under the supreme chief.
Orange New Jersey report states Bishop Thomas Bowman died at age 97 after 61 years of active service. He never vacationed, served as chaplain to the United States Senate, met Lincoln, and traveled about 120000 miles visiting 1100 Methodist churches worldwide.

Budapest March 3 thirty two Ruthenians charged with inciting rebellion against the Austro Hungarian government were sentenced to two and a half to four and a half years imprisonment. Twenty three were acquitted. Evidence showed Russia’s aim to absorb part of Hungary. Father Alexis a Russian monk and alleged leader received four and a half years.

Decatur Illinois March 3 John Baucom aged 18 was arrested in Sullivan in connection with the death of F W Mennerich killed Sunday by an infernal machine mailed to him. Baucom alleged to have assaulted Mennerich last week after a quarrel and a note near the residence implicated him. The note written by Mennerich to his wife explained suspicions of the device but stated intention to open it. The letter named Baucom as the one to be held responsible if the package proved to be deadly. A Decatur man not yet arrested is said to be involved with Mennerichs wife who is suing for divorce. Inspectors follow a death by own action theory. A Springfield man wrote unsigned letters to Mennerich and a Sullivan woman wrote unsigned letters to Mrs Mennerich in Springfield. Officials discount the suicide theory but it is still debated. A close friend said Mennerich spoke of trouble with his wife and a man in Decatur she wished to marry. He feared the Decatur man would cause him to take his own life. Baucom claimed no reason to kill Mennerich. In Chicago Port Huron Grand Trunk rail incident killed a freight brakeman and injured two others. Norman Hastings of Des Moines died in Denver.
James MacNaughton testified in Houghton that strikers witnesses’ complaints of smoke and gas were caused by blasting and miners lamps. He denied rock gas, described company housing at $1 per room monthly, and a welfare program with free fuel. He noted low accident rates versus other districts. Editor jailed in Tyomies case. a $150,000 loan for the Colorado mine strike debated at the Illinois miners’ convention.
