London crowds watched American sprinters and jumpers at the Olympic Games. Harry F. Porter of the Irish American A C cleared 6 ft 8 in in the running high jump, beating C Leahy of Britain who had 6 ft 7 in. Porter won the final at 6 ft 3 in. Wreck at Lovedale Station Kills and Injures Many
A head on collision between two Aurora Elgin and Chicago trolleys at Lovedale station injured nearly 40 people and killed some.
