A tragic airship accident killed five people when the dirigible tumbled and exploded onto an oil tank. Rescuers found the bodies severely mutilated by the fall from several hundred feet, with investigators beginning inquiries into the cause.
A 1910s aviation disaster list details names of fallen pilots and passengers from accidents in Europe and the United States. Among the casualties are Lt. Thomas E. A sharp earthquake at 9:45 this morning cracked walls in Munich and surrounding villages including Garmisch and Oberammergau. Schools were closed after the tremor as officials inspect structures. In Tyrol at Uttenheim one person was killed and twenty injured in the quake.
In New Orleans three people a saloon keeper Joseph Manzella and two Italian men plus an Italian girl faced a fatal three way with revolvers used by the men and a double barreled shotgun used by the girl. Giuseppe Spennazzio the assassin was killed by Josephine Manzella who intervened after hearing the shooting.
Chicago July 13 John Ericson city engineer and Paul Redieske former deputy commissioner of public works were found not guilty of conspiracy in the shale rock case Judge Barnes directed favorable verdicts after motions by Darrow for Ericson and W eiler for Redieske The other defendants M N McGovern and Ralph A Bonnell had motions to remove the case from the jury overruled and their testimony began this morning with several days expected before a verdict for them
Mr and Mrs Charles S Wiley longtime Illinois residents and former Big Four railway law representative in Illinois drowned in Jarvis Inlet British Columbia. They had moved to Seattle eight years ago where Wiley was part of the local legal community.

London July 13 The house of commons approved the second reading of the women's suffrage bill by 299 to 190. Sponsored by Labor member David Games Shackleton, the bill would grant parliamentary franchise to women with property qualification who already vote in municipal elections. The large majority accelerates progress but hurdles remain before final passage, and the bill was referred to a committee of the whole, effectively shelving it until next year.
Pittsburgh July 13 Congressman John Dalzell's margin in the June 4 primary, contested by Dr. R. J. Black, stands at 207 after a county recount finished last night. Initial returns showed 204. Black gained three on petition. Total votes Dalzell 11,045 Black 10,838.

July 13 report states John Kratz shot and killed Mrs. Agnes Mc Coy in Onawa and then killed himself. Authorities say Kratz had been infatuated. the woman reportedly resented his attentions.
Washington July 13 The interstate commerce commission will suspend the recently approved general advances to freight rates that were to take effect August 1. The commission plans a formal inquiry into their reasonableness before any change goes into effect.
