School is underway and plans for 4 H activities are discussed. New food manuals are advertised and traditional projects such as sewing handicrafts home design home nursing electrical mechanics conservation horticulture beef pony and light horse are listed.
Betty Nykyforak 4-H Aide invites youths ages 9 to 19 as of January 1 1978 to enroll in the 4-H program. Interested adults may become instructors and contact the Department of Agriculture at 937 2158 or Betty at 937 2372 for information.
Horace and Ada Cockerill of Lynn Lake spent weeks in and around Roblin before traveling to Stewart British Columbia to visit Arnold and Charlotte Cockerill. Bud and Helen Cockerill and family of Lynn Lake were also mentioned in the surrounding notes.
A chain of visits and extended stays highlighted August events in Roblin and surrounding communities. Calgary guests Ralph and Greta Cockerill hosted with Shawn and Shane visiting grandparents Frank Crudden and others while Don Cockerill from Lynn Lake stopped by. Numerous relatives from Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba joined family events, with birthday celebrations for Donna Cockerill and Rick Cockerill. A Merridale School Grounds picnic on August 21 featured ball and horseshoe games and a midday lunch.

Lawrence Latimer and family announce Scott Murray born August 31, 1977 for Kristine. Doug Pat Wilk announce Raena Dawn born September 5, 1977 at Grandview Hospital. About 450 guests attended a gala on August 20 at Memorial Hall honoring multiple couples for 25th and 35th anniversaries. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Cockerill and others, with John Prior as MC. Poems, grace by Wayne Cockerill, a dance followed, and out of town attendees listed.
