Swine Club Holds Successful Fair at Roblin
The Roblin District Swine Club fair drew a large turnout on the fair grounds last Saturday. Of 41 members an entry list of 33 showed 82 hogs. Judge M Burns praised the stock as among the best he has judged, awarding prizes to 15 top exhibitors, then 69 pigs were shipped to Winnipeg for provincial competition.

Merridale hosts a village dance by the Merridale Baseball Club drawing a large crowd from adjacent districts. Donoghue Bros and Sorbo's orchestra provided music with Harold Fraser and Len Curle as floor managers. A lunch followed and a prize draw took place, reflecting high regard for the local team. Pioneer Resident of Roblin Dies at 59
Thomas Harry Ward died at his Roblin home on Saturday morning November 22 after an illness of over a year. Born in Fordingham Yorkshire England he came to Canada in 1880s and to Roblin district in 1903. Funeral Monday conducted by Rev Stanley B. M. McLeod with large attendance. He leaves his wife three sons Birtle Wilfred Tessie and Amy all of Roblin two brothers Brigham and Ernest of Roblin James of St John ND Joseph of Wadena Sask and two sisters Mrs Annie Wayne Rolla ND and Mrs Geo Porteous Winnipeg.
