Mr and Mrs Wm Topham of Calgary visited with Asa and EF Topham. Montreal and Edmonton trips noted. Several Calgary, Regina, Ottawa, and Winnpeg connections shared during the Thanksgiving holidays. Wm Hampson and Ewart Palmer returned from a three week holiday visiting Edmonton Fort Saskatchewan Wallawright and Saskatoon.

Deepdale visitors and travels noted in brief

Mr and Mrs Gavin Livingstone and Sharon visited Mr and Mrs Walter Livingstone last Wednesday. Steve Dzikowski departed for Winnipeg on Monday of last week. Rey Dzikowski returned to Lethbridge Alto on Friday. Mrs C McKenzie attended the Fall Rally of the Dauphin Presbytery at Grandview on Thursday October 17.

Mrs P Stewart, who has been visiting at the home of her sister and brother in law Mr and Mrs Frank Bailes, has returned to her home in Winnipeg. A shower was held at the Bailes home for Mr and Mrs Frank Bailes.

Roblin Village annual levy plan 1958 to 1977 details

The village of Roblin Manitoba proposes annual rate levies on all rateable property from 1958 through 1977 to raise 762.00 dollars each year for the village debt service. An additional annual special rate within the local improvement area will cover the remaining balance needed for principal and interest of the indebtedness. The notice is dated October 3, 1957.

Evening of music honors Margareti Campbell’s memory

A social gathering honored Mrs Margareti Campbell nee Margaret Jose with games and music. Margaret received many gifts and thanked the ladies in brief remarks. Mr Jack Anderson of the RC.A.F. spoke after the program. He has returned to Chicoutamail Quebec where stationed. Mr and Mrs J Bockman of Regina spent the long weekend with Mrs Bockman’s parents Mr and Mrs Clarence Cooper.

Shell River Notes Catching up in Dauphin and Roblin

Mr Norman Hanson visits Dauphin at sister Mrs Ernie Payne s home. Mr and Mrs Ernie Payne and family of Dauphin spend Sunday at Roblin. Mr and Mrs Bob Kitmister, George aut Lawrence of Grandview visit Wm Payne family. The Shell River W I met at Mrs L Andrews home with five members and three visitors. They plan a three layer Xmas cake bake and a December draw. Mrs J Andrews won the 5c draw. Meeting ended with a cats contest and lunch.

Weekend Visits And Flu Outbreak In Community

James Curtis Makaroff spent the weekend in Winnipeg with relatives. Mr and Mrs Mantin of Swan River visited Mr and Mrs Geo Beattie. Tom Beck visited his daughter Arlene in Winnipeg General Hospital. Mr and Mrs Jas Kerswell moved to Flin Flon. Mrs I R Beattie and Lyle spent days in Winnipeg. Mr and Mrs W A Beattie drove to Saskatoon. The Few supper was well attended and the Ladies Aid thanked contributors. The flu illness troubled the area last week.

Miss Grace Murray spends a few days at home as Kam sack college closes for the Teachers Convention. Grand Narrows residents attend a fowl supper at Makaroff last Friday. Gerald Wilson and Harvey Maguire left for Flin Flon to seek winter work. Miss Ethel Bangle returns from Roblin with flu. Dale Laliberte and Eddie Langavin drove to Yorkton. Miss Elizabeth and Miss Beatrice Atwater go to Winnipeg for a few days.
