Mr Charle Martin taught at Alva and attended the teachers convention at Kainsack last week. Mrs M Allen Miss Peterson and Miss Irene Craig teachers in Togo attended the convention at Kainsack last week.
Mrs Dixon visited Kamalk on Mondays locally while Miss Phyllis Burrell from Alva stays in the district. Mr and Mrs Dixon with family visited G Lester, and Bowen Wheeler Atwater joined Mr and Mrs Wilson on Sunday. The school Inspector made a semi annual visit and the next CFM meeting November 7 will be followed by a local evening. The Grand Narrows school has been freshened up with paint showing clear improvement.
Miss Mabel Vansickle returns to work after illness at Mines. W Currey of Roblin visits son S My Currey here. EB Olson called to US hospital due to mother’s illness. Myrtle Shiner heads to Winnipeg for winter. Chage is recovering from illness. Hallowe en dance at Gilbert School on the 31st. Masquerade dance on the 10th well attended. Miss Rath and Marjory Wells win fancy dress first prize. Miss H Howe and Mr J Nastrom of Deepdale win carnation prizes.
The Cromarty WFM reports a Wednesday meeting and outlines events. William Thompson left for Winnipeg, Mrs Bert Ikwskerville has recovered, and L Whitham returned from Brandon with a pleasant trip report. A Scotch dance drew fewer attendees than hoped. The WFM local holds its annual meeting and a 600 Drive on Friday October 31 at 7 90 p m in the schoolhouse. all welcome.
