Shell River ratepayers weigh postponing tax sale

The Shell River ratepayers meeting in QOF hall Saturday debated postponing the October 30 tax sale. Reeve and supporters argued tax collection would burden farmers and harm schools, urging a one year delay and seeking unemployment roadwork grants. Members voted 56 to 0 in favor of postponement and backed seeking government unemployment funds to repair roads.
