Threshing is near completion in this district thanks to fine weather. The Union Church Ladies Aid Bazaar is planned for November 4 at the church. Mr and Mrs M Law formerly of this district now live in Vancouver BC report a baby born October st Congratulations are extended. Also, excitement arose Saturday when the local mail carrier Mr T F Bryan had a runaway incident as his horses shyed during rounds.

Community Notes From Grand Narrows District Gale

Congratulations to Mr and Ars W Sangster on the birth of a son marked on the sixteenth. The Dramatic Society plans winter programs while threshing finishes. Attendance at Friday’s hall dance was small due to threshing, but participants enjoyed themselves. The UFM ladies prepared a quilt for a Sale of Work on October 31 at the hall. Rain disrupted services and Sunday School. sunny Sunday brought many to Mr Wraver’s sermon. Frank Mills returned from Grenfell by buggy, reporting drier roads north. A.C. McKnight was injured during hall repairs but recovering. UFM ladies hosted Mrs Fred Lester’s birthday dinner on the 8th. The UFM general meeting, postponed by wet weather, met on Tuesday the 14th with visitors and nominations for the Dauphin District Convention.
