Ladies' Auxiliary Meeting Seeks Support for Rest Room Project
Twenty three members attended the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Canadian Legion on September 13. Reports from committees were heard, including Welfare and Rest Room updates. The group approved a $10 donation to the Rest Room Committee for water works. Members canned fifteen cases of pears for hospital aid in September. Lutheran Mission Week Slated For Oct 16 20
Manitoba and Saskatchewan Lutherans will share their faith October 16 through 20. In the Assiniboine Area a mass rally opens October 16 at Roblin Memorial Hall with nightly services at 8 p.m. at Missouri Synod churches. About 2,000 Lutherans are expected to participate in this Preaching Teaching Reaching Mission led by Rally Chairman Rev Paul Borchardt. Rev Walter Wangerin will be guest speaker at the rally. A mass choir from 16 congregations will sing Dear Jesus Bless the Children. Guest missionaries from Alberta Ontario Wyoming Illinois and Nebraska will lead nightly services.

Initiation Day At Goose Lake High School Revival Ends With Pranks
Goose Lake High revived Initiation Day with a 1:30 parade through town led by Robert Arnott in a Scottish drummer, followed by staff cars, a borrowed army jeep, and a tugging out-house float. Sixteen junior girls wore men’s hats while junior boys wore dresses and nylons. The afternoon featured scavenger hunts, stunts, a muddy tug of war, and an evening dance ending with a court condemning unruly juniors and new staff members. Constable R Case supervised traffic for parade safety.
