Mr and Mrs F Topham and Mr and Mrs R Andrews motored to Swan River Sunday. A Mick and Denna and Miss Eleanor Staub left for Winnipeg Friday and returned Monday. Mrs Roscammo and family left for Bird Man Friday where they will reside.

The Makaroff Ladies Aid met at Mrs. I. R. Beattie’s home with twelve members and three visitors. E Boyce chaired as hymn Just As I Am and the Lord's Prayer opened. Barns Razed By Fire On Fred Charles Farm

On the farm of Mr and Mrs Fred Charles three miles east and a half mile south of Roblin three barns and the henhouse were completely destroyed Friday night September 27. The blaze started in the barn about 8 30 pm and Roblin Fire Brigade arrived too late to save the structures. With help from neighbors and friends the fire was kept from reaching the house and other buildings. Some livestock and harness were lost. The cause was believed to be a heat lamp used for a litter of young pigs. One barn and the henhouse were new last year and there was no insurance.

The Roblin district hospital announces two births. A daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Emily Edel on September 25 and a son to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur McKay on September 26. Both families reside in Roblin.

Roblin Witnesses Seek Lift of Dominican Ban on Practice

The Roblin Jehovah's Witnesses met on September 26 to approve a petition urging Generalissimo Trujillo to lift the July ban restricting their religious activity in the Dominican Republic. The petition, authenticated by eight of ten deported missionaries, cites police brutality and was adopted August 24 by 33,091 attendees at a Baltimore regional assembly. The group plans to distribute the account locally and published the facts in the October issue of their multilingual magazine.

Catherine Gail Statham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs T F Statham, married Michael Edward Brock, eldest son of Commodore and Mrs E R Brock, at St Aidans Anglican Church on September 14. Rev F R Gartrell officiated with Herbert Luther as soloist and Stewart Thomson at the organ.

Bride Wears Original Gown in Town Wedding

The bride wore a full length gown with a white train and large bustle bow, pearl and mother-of-pearl detailing, a sik illusion veil, and carried a Prayer Book with rose accents. Miss Elsie Pinkerton was maid of honor, bridesmaids Miss Margaret Brock and Miss Donna McKay Ross, and Ross Yaimei was best man. Guests were ushered by George Cathcart, Rees, and Arthur Brock. After a reception at Marlborough Hotel, the couple left for a short honeymoon and will reside at Brighton Apartments.

Hafichuk Wizniak Tie In Dauphin Ukrainian Church

Josephine Mary Wizniak and Michael Frederick Hafichuk united in a double ring ceremony at the Dauphin Ukrainian Catholic church on Saturday August 31 at 2 p.m. Father Czurman and Father Rudabek officiated. The bride wore nylon tulle over satin with chantilly lace and carried a prayerbook. Attendants wore gold crystal satin gowns. After a reception in Roblin and Jerry's Nite Spot, the couple left for a wedding trip to Winnipeg and the Black Hills. They will reside in Dauphin.
