District News Briefs From Peper and Radford Family

District news items report ABTs broken RT E and a local move near Tezo We note Kamsack return after four weeks with grandparents Mr and Mrs Jack Nabe and family. The Radford family gathered at A Radford’s Sawbridge home Saturday evening to honor Mrs Radford Sr on her birthday despite rain.

Harvesting notes from Silverwood and surrounding towns

Herb Teews broke his arm in a harvesting accident last week and is expected to recover. Mrs. Ber Dixon has returned home from Winnipeg after a hospital stay. Lille Grant Hellrawich, recovering from flu in Roblin, is back home. Charles Framingham accompanied F. H. Wilson to Winnipeg and will start a diploma course in agriculture at the University of Manitoba. Mrs. Clifford Klassen visits her parents and plans to join her husband in Wawa on September 23. The writer hopes Mr Sun will brighten harvesting days soon.

Births and Meetings Highlight Shel River WI News

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Enya Cockerill on the birth of their daughter on September 21. The Shel River WI met September 18 at Mrs Frank Watsons with five members and seven visitors. President Mrs Andrews presided. A donation was made to the National Institute for the Blind and to the F W J C Building Fund. After two dances a third dance was planned in Roblin. Draw won by Mrs Gordon Andrews. Lunch served. Next meeting October 16 at Mrs L Andrews.

Rev Spence to Lead Togo Service on Oct 6

Rev Spence will hold a joint service at Togo on Sunday October 6 at 730 pm with the sacrament of the Lord's Supper to be served. Mr and Mrs Ed Bell drove to Regina Tuesday where Bell attended the BA dealer's convention. Saskatoon visitor Mrs Stan King spent Saturday in town. Several families visited Geo Topham in Grandview after Sunday drive. Swan River couple B Pearson visited R S Topham. Ian Abercrombie of the RCAF left for Churchill after a three week holiday with his parents. Jimmie Topham departed Tuesday for Norman Oklahoma to attend university.

First Lots Sold at Tero Amid Abercrombie Craig Legacy

On Monday September 2 three years ago the first lots were sold by H Abercrombie and the late Geo Craig. M Minuk Wm Hampson Doug Hackney Lawrence Traub and Neil McKinnon drove to Yorkton on Sunday to play for. Mr and Mrs H Ireland of Bedmonton and Mr L Olson of Moose Horn visited Mrs A Ireland and family last week. Mr H Gunness and Jay Dimit drove to Hudson Bay Junction on Wednesday.

Deepdale obituaries and visits highlight weekly page

Visitors from Winnipeg, Dauphin, Halifax and Portage la Prairie gathered at the home of Mr and Mrs H Ayer in Deepdale for social visits. Alma McKenzie travelled to Winnipeg en route to Halifax. A baptism was held at Deepdale United Church for Timothy Kenneth Ward, with sponsors from Flin Flon. Local families named include Mr and Mrs A Livingstone Mr and Mrs Kenneth Ward and relatives in Roblin and Grandview.

Makaroff Trio Heads to Winnipeg. New Students Named

Howard Makaroff and Floyd Wilson with Harold Grundy and Charlie Framingham motored to Winnipeg on Wednesday to enroll at the university. Joan Van Crecht visited in Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Mrs Lynn Angus welcomed a daughter at Roblin Hospital last week. Mrs Wm Elliott of Roblin spoke with Mr and Mrs Chas Elliott. Congratulations to Mrs Wm Elliott on her 81st birthday last Friday. Mrs C E Griffith returned home from hospital Friday.

Rally Day Service at Roblin United Church

A Rally Day service was held at Roblin Knox United church on Sunday September 22 with 160 parents and scholars in attendance. Certificates and gold pins were awarded to scholars for perfect attendance, including Darryl Barber Brian Barber Dianne Goodbun and many others. Classes for this term have begun and adults are invited to join a Bible study on Paul's letters at 11 o clock Sundays.
